What can the Clinical Research Facility offer?

The facilities available at the Clinical Research Facility include the following: 

  • 8 clinic rooms which are suitable for phlebotomy and lumbar puncture procedures
  • 2 sleep study rooms
  • Pharmacy
  • Laboratory equipped with two centrifuges for on-site sample processing
  • -80 and -20 freezer facilities
  • Patient waiting area 
  • Meeting room
  • Office space
  • Courtyard and garden space

Our staff hold a wide range of skills in research set up, delivery and management including:

  • Non-invasive blood pressure monitoring
  • 12 lead electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • Phlebotomy
  • Spirometry
  • Monitoring of vital signs
  • Lumbar puncture support
  • Intermediate life support
  • Medical cover
  • Laboratory skills – sample processing, storage and shipping
  • Cognitive tests
  • Diagnostic and standardised interviews
  • Administration of study specific procedures or treatments
  • Recruitment 
  • Informed consent
  • Source data file development
  • Data entry
  • SOP and risk assessment development
