DESCRIPTION:Oxford Health CRF will have a stall again at this years Oxford Pride Event!  They look forward to welcoming you on the day and chatting more about healthcare research taking place across Oxfordshire. \nDuring the event there will be three live stages\, an accessible viewing area in the Castle Quarter\, and Paradise Square Gardens with live acts being broadcast on a big screen. \nThe 21st anniversary Pride Parade starts from 9:00am at  Radcliffe Square and is open to all members of the public. \nWhen you arrive at Radcliffe Square please sign in at the Oxford Pride Rainbow bus. \nIf you are in a large group\, please register here. \nLet’s unite under the rainbow flag and embrace the vibrant spirit of inclusivity at this year’s Oxford Pride Day on June 8th.

DESCRIPTION:In person event: Tsuzuki Lecture Theatre \nSpeakers: Dr Heli Harvala (University of Oxford)\, Dr Su Brailsford (NHS Blood and Transplant) \nJoin us this World Blood Donor Day as Su Brailsford and Heli Harvala explore the vital intersection of maintaining blood safety and promoting inclusivity within the NHS Blood and Transplant service. Dr. Brailsford from NHS Blood and Transplant will discuss her instrumental role in the ‘For the Individual Assessment of Risk’ (FAIR) Steering group. Discover how this initiative has enhanced equality in donor selection\, especially concerning sexuality\, sexual behaviour\, and minority ethnic communities\, whilst ensuring the highest standards of blood safety. Dr Harvala will share her cutting-edge research on Occult Hepatitis B infection in blood donations. Learn about her work in implementing advanced screening methods introduced last year to effectively manage this risk. \nDon’t miss this engaging talk from the Genomics to Enhance Microbial Screening Blood and Transplant Unit (BTRU–GEMS) where we delve into the science and policy that underpin our commitment to maintaining a safe blood transfusion service\, alongside promoting inclusivity! \nThis talk is funded by the Oxford Policy Engagement Network (OPEN)\, refreshments will be provided before and after the talks.
