DESCRIPTION:This annual course provides a thorough grounding in the principles and practice of randomised controlled trials (RCTs) for evaluating healthcare interventions. \nCourse Objectives: \n\nClarify the fundamental principles and practice of RCTs\nPresent the optimal methodology to use in RCTs\nExamine the critical issues involved in planning\, conducting and completing a successful trial\nProvide a basic understanding of the statistics used to plan and analyse RCTs\nTeach critical appraisal skills and practice appraising RCT papers\n\nFor more information and booking\, see the University of Oxford website.

SUMMARY:RCN International Nursing Research Conference 2024
DESCRIPTION:This year’s Royal College of Nursing International Nursing Research Conference will specifically showcase research that addresses the needs of under-served populations. \nThe conference is open to anyone interested in nursing and research. It will be of interest to nurses\, and colleagues in related disciplines\, involved in the development and use of knowledge that impacts on nursing practice or the context in which nurses’ practice. \nPlease note this will be an in-person conference. All presenters are required to register to attend the conference in person to present. \nNew for 2024 – Clinical Research Nursing\nWe are delighted that for the very first time\, this year’s conference will include see day two (Weds 11 Sept) have specific sessions focused on Clinical Research Nursing and are open to all delegates. We hope that this will support learning across nurses who deliver research and will also be of interest to those that lead and design research.
