DESCRIPTION:Oxford Health CRF will have a stall again at this years Oxford Pride Event!  They look forward to welcoming you on the day and chatting more about healthcare research taking place across Oxfordshire. \nDuring the event there will be three live stages\, an accessible viewing area in the Castle Quarter\, and Paradise Square Gardens with live acts being broadcast on a big screen. \nThe 21st anniversary Pride Parade starts from 9:00am at  Radcliffe Square and is open to all members of the public. \nWhen you arrive at Radcliffe Square please sign in at the Oxford Pride Rainbow bus. \nIf you are in a large group\, please register here. \nLet’s unite under the rainbow flag and embrace the vibrant spirit of inclusivity at this year’s Oxford Pride Day on June 8th.

SUMMARY:Oxford and OH BRC Race inclusion in research workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Oxford and Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centres are holding a workshop for researchers and PPI staff to improve race inclusion in research. \nThe workshop will be from 10.30-3.30pm on 7th March 2024 at the Blavatnik School of Government\, 120 Walton St\, Oxford OX2 6GG. \nPlease fill out the following form if you would like to attend by Monday 19 February: https://forms.office.com/e/1jUsS6S9GS \nPlaces are limited – there are about 30 spaces for researchers and 15 for PPI leads. \nThis workshop will be led by facilitators from Open Edge. Training on the NIHR toolkits and guidance will be provided. SUMMARY:The Young Peoples Advisory Group (YPAG) are recruiting for members!
DESCRIPTION:The NeurOX YPAG (Young Peoples Advisory Group) is a group of young people aged between 14-19 who work with researchers in the Neuroscience\, Ethics and Society (NEUROSEC) team at the University of Oxford to provide advice and guidance to researchers working on mental health ethics. \nThe group are looking for new members and are hosting a recruitment event online in February. \nYoung people are reimbursed £15 per hour for their time\, increasing to £20 per hour after their first year. This includes any preparation work asked of you beforehand. \nThey would like to emphasize their commitment to creating a diverse and representative group. The group encourages individuals with lived/personal experience\, young LGBTQIA+\, mixed academic and learning capabilities\, multi-ethnicity and those with any disabilities to apply. \nMembership criteria are: \n\nA genuine interest in matters relating to youth mental health and mental health ethics\nAged 14 – 18 years of age.\nLive within the UK\nThe capacity to attend at least one meeting per month\nThe capacity to engage in thoughtful discussion\n\nYou can sign up to attend the event on the recruitment page of the NeurOx YPAG website. \n \n

SUMMARY:NIHR LGBTQ+ Staff Network launch meeting
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce the launch of the NIHR LGBTQ+ Staff Network. The NIHR LGBTQ+ Staff Network is open to all staff working as part of NIHR (such as staff in coordinating centres\, LCRN core teams\, delivery staff in LCRN partner organisations and staff in NIHR infrastructure eg. ARCs and BRCs) who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community or as allies. The focus of the Network has been shaped by many of the 120 people who responded to the expression of interest which went out last year and will include peer support and wellbeing; social and community activities; development and training; LGBTQ+ research inclusion and communications and engagement. \nThe launch meeting for the Network will be held virtually on 7 February from 11am to 12pm\, where the process will start to put together the Coordinating Committee\, share key information about the Network and allow members opportunities to connect with each other. \nIf you are interested in joining the mailing list for the NIHR LGBTQ+ Staff Network and would like to be invited to attend the launch meeting on 7 February and future meetings\, please complete this short form.
