SUMMARY:Transforming healthcare: genomic research and what it means for you
DESCRIPTION:Genomics is the future of healthcare. Prominent in the NHS’s 10 Year Plan\, the aim of the health service is to embed genomics into routine care\, moving from reactive treatment through to personalised\, proactive medicine with genomic insight at its heart. \nGenomic research helps to power this shift\, with studies such as the Generation Study and Adult Screening Study paving the way for greater knowledge and innovation. To mark Red4Research Day 2026\, we’re hosting a webinar on all things genomic research – what’s happening\, what we’re learning\, and crucially\, what it means for you. \nWe’ll hear from experts in genomic research\, including: \n\nThe Airlock Team at Genomics England\nProfessor Diana Baralle\, Professor of Genomic Medicine and Head of School\, Human Development and Health in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton\, NIHR Senior Investigator and emeritus NIHR Research Professor and current Vice president of the Clinical Genetics Society\nProfessor Sarah Ennis\, Professor of Genomics at the University of Southampton\, Research Director at Central & South Genomics\, Genomics Lead at Wessex Health Partners\, Project Lead at the Wessex Secure Data Environment\, Co-applicant at the NHS Genomic Artificial Intelligence Network\, and consultant\n\nThis event is for everyone\, whether you’re a healthcare professional\, academic\, charity representative\, or a member of the public interested in genomic research\, how to get involved and what it might mean for you in the future. \nBooking online.
