SUMMARY:Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRB) Conference
DESCRIPTION:Registration is now open for the first ever Oxford BFRB (Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviours) Conference. \nIn partnership with BFRB UK & Ireland\, this conference will bring together people interested in\, and living with\, BFRBs (Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviours). \nBody-Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRBs) are a group of complex mental health disorders that are characterised by the uncontrollable urge to pull\, pick\, scratch\, cut\, or bite one’s own hair\, skin\, or nails. People with BFRBs often experience high levels of emotional distress as a result of these behaviours which can severely impact everyday life\, causing avoidance and disruption at work\, school and social situations. The behaviours can also lead to damage to the body\, such as thinning hair or bald patches\, skin lesions\, scarring\, and infection. \nDay 1 is a research symposium for academics and people with lived experience; \nDay 2 is a Community Day for people to connect and learn from each other in a more informal setting. \nAnyone with personal and/or scientific interest in BFRBs are warmly encouraged to attend. \nMore info and tickets: www.psych.ox.ac.uk/BFRBConf  (book by 23.08.24) \nThis is an in person and online event. \n

SUMMARY:Warneford Park - Preview planning consultation exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Oxford and partner invite you to the upcoming pre-planning public consultation sessions for Warneford Park.  \n\n\n\n\n\nAs you may know the Warneford Hospital is the oldest inpatient unit still in use across the NHS. Although no longer fit for purpose\, staff continue to provide compassionate care in this Grade II listed building that hasn’t changed much from when it was built 200 years ago \nIn partnership with the University of Oxford and partners\, we want to develop a major brain health research and innovation campus. This will comprise: \n\n\n\n\na new state-of-the-art mental health hospital\, offering the best treatment\, care\, and therapeutic environment.\n\n\n\na modern scientific facility for the world-leading brain research taking place at the University of Oxford\, with additional space for biotech\, pharmaceutical and start-up companies.\n\n\n\na new post-graduate college for the University of Oxford focused on medical sciences\, bio-engineering and related disciplines.\n\n\n\n\nThis consultation aims to gather valuable insights and feedback\, on the proposed redevelopment of the Warneford Hospital site. It is an important part of our pre-planning application process\, inviting participation from local stakeholders\, community representatives\, businesses\, service providers\, staff\, patients and agencies with an interest in the future of this hospital and its surrounding site. We would like to work together\, to explore relevant issues and guiding principles for the redevelopment. \n\n\n\nThe drop-in exhibition sessions will provide an opportunity to: \n\n\n\n\nExplore informative displays and visual material which will provide background context and considerations for future development\n\n\n\nMeet members of the project team and engage in discussions with subject matter specialists\n\n\n\nShare your thoughts\, concerns and ideas for the future of Warneford Park\n\n\n\n\nA team led by Eric Parry Architects has been appointed to take forward and create a masterplan for this site. We are keen to work with you at this early stage to help identify key issues and explore appropriate solutions in a collaborative way. \n\n\n\nYou are welcome to drop into any of the consultation exhibition sessions. If you have any questions\, please contact the Warneford Project Team on warnefordpark@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk.

SUMMARY:Create a successful hybrid working community
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to create a hybrid working community that works for you based on the needs of your role\, team and life outside work. \nThe future of work is hybrid\, with the majority of organisations adopting it as their business model. But hybrid is more than just a business model or a working pattern. It’s a profound shift in how we think about work\, and there is simply no one-size fits all approach. \nThis means leaders and managers need to recognise its impact and weave it smoothly into their organisation’s DNA. Led by leadership experts Cappfinity\, by the end of this webinar\, you will: \n• discover how to make hybrid working work for you \n• learn how to create a hybrid working community \n• explore how to build connections between people and teams \n• consider ways to ensure everyone is motivated. \nThis webinar is open to NIHR Academy Members/leaders and publicly funded organisations conducting and supporting clinical research within the UK. \nSign up here.
