DESCRIPTION:An integral part of research that is funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) is to ensure that patients\, carers\, service users and the public have the opportunity to shape and influence the relevance\, quality and impact of our health and care research. One of NIHR strategic commitments for public partnerships is to strengthen capacity and capability. NIHR is committed to providing guidance and training on PPI for researchers. DESCRIPTION:From autumn 2024\, applicants for all NIHR domestic programme awards will be required to demonstrate how inclusion is being built into the research lifecycle and costed for.  \nThis includes\, but is not limited to\, the research question and design\, the participants recruited\, the research methods\, data collection\, analysis and dissemination of findings. \nTo fulfil NIHR’s mission to improve the health and wealth of the nation through research\, the NIHR will be changing to ensure that research inclusion is properly costed and executed. \nThe NIHR will be delivering training sessions on the new requirements. The sessions are aimed at researchers and research support staff. \nThis 1-hour session will be jointly delivered by the NIHR Research Inclusion team and the NIHR Research Support Service (RSS). \nThe session is aimed at researchers and research support staff and will include: \n\nAn overview of the new conditions of funding for domestic programme awards\nPractical and actionable advice on how to meet the requirements and meaningfully embed inclusion in all stages of the research lifecycle\n\nRegistration required on the link : Wednesday 16 October 2024 from 2pm – 3pm. Register for the 16 October event. \n NIHR infrastructure and global health awards will come on stream from 2025 onwards. SUMMARY:The Young Peoples Advisory Group (YPAG) are recruiting for members!
DESCRIPTION:The NeurOX YPAG (Young Peoples Advisory Group) is a group of young people aged between 14-19 who work with researchers in the Neuroscience\, Ethics and Society (NEUROSEC) team at the University of Oxford to provide advice and guidance to researchers working on mental health ethics. \nThe group are looking for new members and are hosting a recruitment event online in February. \nYoung people are reimbursed £15 per hour for their time\, increasing to £20 per hour after their first year. This includes any preparation work asked of you beforehand. \nThey would like to emphasize their commitment to creating a diverse and representative group. The group encourages individuals with lived/personal experience\, young LGBTQIA+\, mixed academic and learning capabilities\, multi-ethnicity and those with any disabilities to apply. \nMembership criteria are: \n\nA genuine interest in matters relating to youth mental health and mental health ethics\nAged 14 – 18 years of age.\nLive within the UK\nThe capacity to attend at least one meeting per month\nThe capacity to engage in thoughtful discussion\n\nYou can sign up to attend the event on the recruitment page of the NeurOx YPAG website. \n \n
