DESCRIPTION:Open to early career mental health researchers across the UK\, this free Early Career Researcher (ECR) webinar series will bring together experienced researchers\, academics\, and professionals to share insights\, advice\, and practical guidance on topics relevant to career development in mental health research. \nUpcoming webinar \nThe first webinar will focus on Academic Clinical Fellowships and will be delivered by Dr Thomas Hewson\, Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist at Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. \nDr Hewson is an alumnus of the NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow Scheme (2020–2023) and was previously Presidential Scholar for Retention and Wellbeing at the Royal College of Psychiatrists (2025–2026). \n📅 Monday 21 September\, midday to 1pm (online)\n🔗 Registration is now open. DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Dr Melanie Ivarsson\, CEO of the Health Data Research Service \nSpeaker bio: Melanie currently leads the Health Data Research Service – a new organisation backed by the UK Government and Wellcome Trust which aims to revolutionise how UK data healthcare is used. She is currently leading efforts to accelerate the understanding of what causes disease and the discovery of life-saving drugs\, while protecting the public’s data. \nMelanie began her career as an academic neuroscience researcher in the UK\, USA\, and Sweden. She has also worked in industry\, primarily exploring ways to develop new drug targets.
