SUMMARY:Our Future Health mobile clinics (North Oxford)
DESCRIPTION:The Our Future Health programme aims to help people live healthier lives for longer through the discovery and testing of more effective approaches to prevention\, earlier detection and treatment of diseases. We are aiming to recruit up to 5 million adults who truly reflect the UK population. We launched recruitment in 2022 and are delighted to share that we now have over 2 million volunteers signed up so far. We’re continuing to roll out our appointment venues more widely and are keen to work with you to ensure the people of Oxford are well represented in the programme. \nVolunteers give their consent to join the research programme and provide secure access to their health records\, complete a questionnaire\, and attend an appointment to provide a blood sample and have some physical measurements taken. They are also offered information about their own health\, including their blood pressure and heart rate. More information about what’s involved is available here. \nThese Oxford clinics are part of our continued expansion\, joining existing Our Future Health appointment venues\, selected Boots stores and NHS Blood and Transplant locations across the UK in welcoming more people to take part.

DESCRIPTION:Following the success of our first\, online knowledge sharing session in July with colleagues from DHSC to support national efforts to reduce clinical trial study set-up times a maximum of 150 days\, we will be hosting a second session on Thursday 17th September 2026 11:00am-12:30pm via MS Teams (invite to follow). \nThe July session had over 160 colleagues in attendance\, and it was the start of an ongoing\, peer-supported dialogue for colleagues across the R&D community to share learning\, challenges\, and innovations in study set-up\, providing opportunity to engage directly with DHSC. \nLearning from this first session was that 60 minutes was not long enough. DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to announce a series of interactive workshops aimed at operational and strategic leadership in social care (both adult and children) in partnership with colleagues at ADASS. Practitioner-led research in social care is a priority for the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR)\, which offers a range of development opportunities to help practitioners build their skills and knowledge. However\, as many of us know\, social care practitioners apply for these opportunities less frequently than health practitioners.\n\n\nThis series of interactive workshops are aimed at operational and strategic leadership in social care across statutory\, voluntary and independent sector providers. These behaviours are not simply bad habits\, they are often chronic\, difficult to control and associated with high levels of emotional distress.  They can have profound impact on everyday life\, including work\, education\, relationships and general social functioning. \n\nBFRB Con 2026 will bring together clinicians\, researchers and people with lived experience to support knowledge exchange\, professional development and community-building around Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRBs). DESCRIPTION:As evidence grows for psychedelic therapy across conditions such as depression\, addiction and disordered eating\, a new question emerges: how do we responsibly integrate these treatments into existing healthcare frameworks? \nIn this talk\, Dr David Erritzoe will begin with an overview of the field – from psychological and neurobiological role of psychedelics as catalysts of flexibility in “stuck” brain networks\, to key findings from recent clinical trials. He will then turn to the practical realists of implementation\, exploring what healthcare systems can do now to prepare for the coming wave of psychedelic therapies. However\, they present new challenges for evaluation\, implementation and commercialisation\, with decisions often needing to be made before conventional evidence is fully established. \nThis workshop will explore how early health technology assessment (HTA)\, economic evaluation and commercial considerations can be integrated to support the successful translation of digital health innovations into clinical practice.
