Every year, Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust marks LGBT+ History Month in February to raise awareness and consciousness of LGBT+ equality.
LGBT+ History Month in the UK is a dedicated time to celebrate the rich and diverse history of LGBTQIA people. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the LGBT+ History Month campaign with the theme ‘Activism and Social Change.’
LGBT+ History Month states:
“LGBT+ History Month is for everyone; whether you work in education, a museum, a library or art gallery, a business, a service, or are a member of a network/social group or an individual.”
There is a planned programme of events for staff at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust supported by the Trust’s LGBTQIA+ Equality Staff Network and Trans & Non-Binary Staff Support Group. The LGBTQIA+ Equality Staff Network actively promotes the inclusion of people from all sexual orientations and gender identities to ensure that the Trust’s practices as an employer and service provider are equal and fair.
There are a number of public events taking place throughout the month of February, both online and in person across the Oxford research landscape.
