The NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC): Oxford Health Themes Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Network is pleased to launch two new initiatives designed to promote inclusive research practices and provide opportunities for colleagues to engage with EDI topics.
Research Inclusion Drop-ins
A new series of informal monthly Research Inclusion Drop-ins sessions offer all BRC colleagues the chance to discuss research inclusion approaches, challenges and raise questions with members of the EDI Ambassadors Network, alongside the BRC EDI Academic Lead and EDI Project Manager.
Whether you are looking for practical advice, want to share ideas, or would simply like to learn more about inclusive research, everyone is welcome to attend.
The first session will be held at midday on Thursday 3 November in the Hot Desk Room, Department of Psychiatry on the Warneford Hospital site, or to request a link to join online, email Lizzie Carline, EDI Project Manager: [email protected].
While no booking is required, colleagues are welcome to let us know they are planning to attend and to share any topics, questions or useful background information in advance by emailing Lizzie Carline.
Anonymous EDI Question Form
We have also launched a new anonymous EDI question form, providing an accessible way for BRC colleagues and BRC-supported researchers to raise questions related to your research, workplace culture, or wider EDI topics. Submitters can choose to provide their name if they would like a direct response or remain anonymous.
Responses to anonymous questions will be shared through our upcoming bi-monthly EDI digest. Questions and answers will also be added to a growing Q&A resource on the Research Inclusion Hub, helping to build a useful knowledge base for the wider research community.
Together, these two initiatives aim to create more opportunities for discussion, learning and support around EDI and research inclusion across the BRC community.
