When tough choices arise, whom should we help? In this study, we are exploring how teenagers make moral tradeoffs – deciding between helping humans, animals, plants, and even robots.
Why does this study matter?
From food choices to environmental ethics, these dilemmas shape the world around us. Understanding how young people’s moral priorities may shift as they grow older can reveal what drives their decision-making processes and sense of responsibility towards different entities.

What methods are we using?
We are designing a survey, incorporating insights from similar past research with young children.
Who are we partnering with?
Working with schools across Oxfordshire, we will connect with young people eager to share their views.
What’s next?
Data collection begins in Spring 2025! Stay tuned for updates and information on how to get involved.
