Tim Nicholls, who recently joined the MHM as Implementation Lead, said he was left “optimistic about the work being carried out” after a visit to the Mental Health Research for Innovation Centre (M-RIC) in Liverpool.
M-RIC, alongside the Midlands Translation Centre in Birmingham, is one the MHM’s demonstrator sites dedicated increasing mental health research capacity and capability in areas where it is needed most.
During the visit, the M-RIC team provided an update on their six work themes:
Mood Disorder Care Innovations,
Child and Adolescent Digital Mental Health,
Neuroimmune Therapeutics for Psychosis and
M-RIC’s Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement Team spoke about the recruitment of service user and carer representatives to work alongside researchers in each of the six work themes.
