The NIHR has announced a £6.5 million investment to establish a UK-wide Commercial Research Delivery Centre (CRDC) Network, hosted by University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
This new network will strategically coordinate 21 CRDCs across the UK, streamlining clinical trial delivery and strengthening collaboration with industry. It aims to harmonise processes, improve study setup, and expand patient access to cutting-edge treatments, aligning with the UK governments call to turbocharge medical research.
For both OH BRC and the MH-TRC Mission, this initiative offers a powerful platform to scale commercial partnerships and accelerate innovation in mental health and translational research.
The integration of Primary Care CRDCs this autumn supports a shift toward community-based trials, directly advancing our commitment to inclusive, real-world research. The network also promises enhanced workforce development and public involvement, reinforcing leadership in impactful, patient-centred science.
