Parliament for Researchers

UK Parliament hosts events open to researchers from any discipline and career-level, and delivers training across the UK.

Their new series of online training sessions provide an opportunity to hear directly from a Member of the House of Lords on how they engage with academic research.

During a Parliament for Researchers with the House of Lords session, attendees will find out about how research evidence is used in both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, and how to work with Parliament as a researcher.

The next Parliament for Researchers event is on 22 October with Baroness Young of Old Scone who will share insights on the value of academic research in Parliament, informed by her background in health services.

During the session, you will find out about how research evidence is used in both the House of Commons and the House of Lords and how you can work with Parliament as a researcher.

These sessions are suitable for early career researchers, PhD students, researchers who are new to engaging with the UK Parliament as well as those who would benefit from a refresher.
