Priorities in Digital Mental Health and Publishing in Nature

Friday 14 August at 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

In this talk, Dr Ming Yang, Senior Editor at Nature Medicine, will share his perspectives on the future of digital mental health research and what editors look for when publishing in one of the world’s leading medical journals.

Ming joined Nature Medicine in 2022, handling research and setting editorial priorities across a broad range of topics in non-communicable diseases, including mental health and public health.

The talk will be chaired by Dr Tom Ward, a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology working at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London and Honorary Consultant Clinical Psychologist in South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Ward is co-founder and lead of the AVATAR therapy team, a digital relational intervention for distressing voices, and co-founder of SloMo therapy, a digital blended therapy for paranoia.

The talk will be followed with an audience Q&A.

The event is hosted by NIHR BRC: Maudsley’s Digital Therapies theme.
