Dr Hannah Slevin
In the video below, Dr Hannah Slevin, ST6 in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Manchester shares her experience of starting her research career.
Dr Slevin completed an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship which allowed her to take up to 25% of her clinical training time for research.
Dr Slevin speaks about her research into the prevalence of autism and ADHD in young people who have had cancer and the impact of these conditions on mental health and educational outcomes. She also offers advice for aspiring researchers.
Harry Chapman
In this video Harry Chapman, Customer Success and Service Delivery Lead at CareLoop Health shares his experience of undertaking an industry secondment, supported by the Capacity Development workstream.
Harry shares how he worked on a psychosis relapse prediction tool within an Early Intervention in Psychosis team.
Dr Ikra Mahmood
In this video, Dr Ikra Mahmood, Foundation Year 3 Doctor at Nottingham University Hospitals, shares her experiences of psychiatry training and working with people with depression to co-produce training videos for clinicians and researchers on how to deliver a specific depression rating scale.
Dr Mahmood also suggests pathways to include research in a clinical career.
