We’re delighted to share that University of Oxford’s Dr. Tessa Reardon, leading the WISDOM Schools network within the Oxford Health BRC Mental Health in Developmental (MHID) Theme, is at the forefront of a UK-wide study tackling childhood anxiety before it takes hold.
Featured in a recent article by the Kavli Trust, the research explores how the digital parenting tool OSI (Online Support and Intervention) can help prevent anxiety disorders in young children by supporting their parents early on. Delivered through schools, the programme reached over 1,000 high-risk children aged 4–7 across 95 UK schools. The results included fewer diagnoses, better outcomes, and strong evidence for cost-effectiveness.
Dr. Reardon’s team is now working to scale the model nationally, ensuring it reaches even the most disadvantaged families.
