Recently over 30 service users, carer representatives and public advisors met with colleagues for Mental Health Research for Innovation Centre’s (M-RIC) final PPIE workshop of the year to celebrate their achievements.
M-RIC, based in Liverpool, is one of the Mental Health Mission’s two demonstrator sites which brings together academic researchers, healthcare providers, service users and industry to develop and evaluate new treatments and deliver more innovative services in mental healthcare.
The Christmas event featured a musical performance by service user and carer representative Xiao Xiao Hou, a lighting of indoor lanterns made by the public advisor art group, a poem reading by service user and carer representative Carmen Browne and a group sing-along.
The group was also joined by population mental health researchers Professor Rhiannon Corcoran and Dr Katherine Abba from the University of Liverpool.
