Get involved and help shape research for mental health and dementia

The Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) works to bring the best science to mental health and dementia.

We are looking for patients, carers and members of the public to work with us to shape what research we do and how we do it.  By getting involved you can help make sure our research asks the most important questions and is easy for people to find out about and take part in.

We want to involve a diverse range of voices and experiences. You don’t need any specialist knowledge of research to get involved. Just experience of, or an interest in, mental health or dementia, and a commitment to making research the best it can be.

We provide training and support to help you get the most out of your involvement with us. Everyone who gets involved in helping to shape our research is offered reimbursement for their time and expenses.

We currently have two opportunities:

  • Join our Patient and Public (PPI) contributor group to be kept up to date with opportunities to be involved in research projects, plus other research news. Visit this webpage for more details.
  • Join our strategic Patient and Research Group to help develop PPI at the Oxford Health BRC – visit this webpage for more details.

If you have any questions about patient and public involvement you can get in touch with us by emailing Claire.murray@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk .
