University of Oxford and OH BRC supported researchers are recruiting participants for the Oxford Semaglutide and Cognition (OxSENSE) Study. The study is investigating the effects of a single-dose of semaglutide on cognition and energy in healthy volunteers.
If you or someone you know meets the following criteria, you may be able to take part.
- Healthy volunteers aged 21 to 55 years
- No previous history of mental illness
- Not on regular medication
How long will it take?
- 3.5 hours in total (an online pre-screening and 2 in-person visits at the Neurosciences Building, Warneford Hospital)
What does the study involve?
You will complete a short online pre-screening call (15 mins) with a researcher, who will go over the participant information sheet with you, ask a few questions about your eligibility for the study and answer your queries.
On the first visit (1 hour), you will be asked questions about your medical history to check your suitability for the study. If eligible, you will complete some questionnaires and receive an injection beneath the skin.
Between the first and second visit, you will be asked how energetic/active you feel four times a day over the study week. On the second visit (2 hours), you will complete some computerised tasks and questionnaires.
You will be reimbursed £120 for your time and there is a chance to win up to an additional £20 from two of the tasks.
