Interested in helping us improve NHS Services for patients with memory problems?
- Our study is looking for volunteers, aged 80 or more, with no diagnosis of memory problems, to help us improve measures of brain health. We hope this will help doctors make more accurate and earlier diagnoses. In future it may also help determine the best treatment plans for patients.
Volunteers will be asked to attend one study session of around 2.5 hours. You will complete tests of thinking skills and have an MRI scan. We also measure your height, weight, blood pressure, grip strength and walking style. Afterwards, you will be sent a questionnaire to complete at home about your education, health and activities. You may choose to complete some more memory and thinking tests at a second optional session.
Volunteers receive £10/ hour for their time and reasonable travel expenses.
Location: You will be seen at either the:
– Oxford Centre for Human Brain Activity (OHBA), Warneford Hospital, OX3 7JX
– Oxford Centre for Functional MRI of the Brain (FMRIB), John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington, Oxford OX3 9DU
