Professor Andrea Cipriani

BP Clinic Lead

Andrea Cipriani is Professor of Psychiatry and NIHR Research Professor at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford, Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and Clinical Lead of the Bipolar Disorder Research Clinic. His main interest in psychiatry is evidence-based mental health and the evaluation of treatments for depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. His research has now a specific focus on data science and precision mental health, trying to assess the validity, breadth, structure and interpretation of innovative statistical and machine learning approaches to better inform the decision-making process between patients and clinicians and personalise treatment in routine clinical care. He is currently the Director of the NIHR Oxford Health Clinical Research Facility, Director of the Global Alliance for Living Evidence in Depression, Anxiety and Psychosis (GALENOS Project), Lead of the Oxford Precision Psychiatry Lab (PETRUSHKA Trial and PRADA Project) and Editor-in-Chief of BMJ Mental Health.

Dr Katharine Smith

OH CRF Clinical Lead

Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist with dual accreditation in both general adult and older adult psychiatry. She works at the NIHR Oxford cognitive health Clinical Research Facility. She has a background in clinical research, and her interests are in clinical depression and bipolar disorder.

Dr Andrea Paggi

Dr Andrea Paggi is a psychiatrist specializing in general adult psychiatry, working as a Specialty Doctor in clinical research at the NIHR OH Clinical Research Facility. His clinical and research interests focus on mood disorders, with a particular emphasis on bipolar disorder and treatment-resistant depression.

Caroline Zangani

Dr Caroline Zangani

Dr Caroline Zangani is a psychiatrist specialised in Adult General Psychiatry. Dr Zangani works as Specialty doctor at the Clinical Research Facility: Oxford Health, working with patients with several mental and cognitive health conditions. Clinically, she sees patients with treatment resistant depression and bipolar disorder. Dr Zangani is also a researcher at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford, her research is focused on solving real-world clinical challenges and enhancing everyday practice for people with mental health conditions.
