Oxford Health BRC Fellowships
The NIHR Oxford Senior Research Fellows Award scheme recognises and supports mid-career individuals with the potential and trajectory to become future leaders in translational research in the NIHR in Oxford. This is a joint initiative between the Oxford BRC, the Oxford Health BRC and the ARC Oxford & Thames Valley (ARC OxTV) and aims to attract, recognise, and develop outstanding researchers.
Eligibility
Applicants should be engaged in translational research which benefits patients or improves the healthcare system, brings health economics benefits, and contributes positively to society. Candidates from a wide range of disciplines are welcome to apply (for example from Medical Sciences, Computer Sciences, Maths Physical and Life Sciences, Engineering etc.). Four fellowships will be awarded by Oxford BRC, two by Oxford Health BRC and one by the ARC.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia Masterclass
Developed by Dr Dimitri Gavriloff and Prof. Colin Espie, this two-day online masterclass aims to give a grounding in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia to healthcare professionals.
Integrating Economic Evaluation into Clinical Trials
This newly developed course is designed for clinical investigators, managers, researchers and others working in clinical trials. It will give participants an understanding of what is required to enable an economic evaluation to be integrated into a clinical trial at the design stage. No previous knowledge or background in economics is required. Additionally, it will provide practical advice on how to find and collaborate with a health economist on the analysis of a clinical trial.
Academic Writing Retreats
The NMAHP writing retreats aim to build Mental Health research capacity and develop NMAHPs capabilities through creating accessible opportunities focusing on academic writing outside of clinical responsibilities. It purposefully engages with a whole breadth of staff from all professional and academic backgrounds, and levels of experience. The next writing retreat, hosted by OXINAHR, will be open to other professional groups/disciplines such as methodologists and healthcare scientists.
FSL Course
Learn the theory and practice of functional and structural brain image analysis. We have hosted the FSL course for over 20 years, and trained thousands of users in that time. We welcome all skill levels, and we have self-paced primer material to get you started before attending.
MRI Graduate training
The MRI Graduate Programme, organised by the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging, is a set of courses designed to teach new researchers the theory and practice of MRI neuroimaging, from introductory courses on neuroscience and statistics, to MRI physics and analysis.
WIN Global Scholars
The WIN Global Scholars (WINGS) programme aims to build links between WIN and MRI researchers in the Global South. WIN Global Scholars will continue their research projects at their current institution, while being remotely affiliated with WIN for one year. During their tenure, they will receive a range of training opportunities and interact with WIN researchers.
Inclusive Leadership Programme
The ILP was developed by EDI professionals and consists of a series of training sessions and best practice workshops to nurture leadership skills for fostering inclusive and equitable environments. The programme has 6 in-person core training sessions, 3 sessions of action-oriented problem solving in groups, a 360° feedback review, and a personally tailored inclusion project (timetable below). The time commitment is anticipated at 5-6 days in total over the course of one year.
Next Generation Leadership Programme
This training course is for early to mid-career researchers and health professionals to develop skills in leadership, conflict management and influence as they take on more responsibility. Applicants should already have completed a doctorate or professional training. The course consists of six full days (one day a month) with additional project work and will take place in the NDM Research Building, Old Road Campus.
Sessions will include a mix of question and answer sessions with senior leaders/ practitioners and interactive skills workshops led by facilitators. You will also work on group quality improvement projects which will be presented to members of the OUH NHS Trust after the end of the programme. You will need to commit to at least 5 sessions and have line manager support.
